I was born and raised in New York. I earned my BFA from S.U.N.Y. Purchase in 1983 and my MFA from Syracuse University in 1986. Between degrees, I went to Venice Italy through a painting program with NYU. Although the primary focus of my art and my education has been painting and drawing, I have also concentrated on film and criticism. I studied film with Tom Gunning and painting with Nick Marsicano. I currently teach design and drawing at Syracuse University and live in upstate NY with my husband and 3 children.
